Ranji Trophy 2026/27: Lomror, Kartik keep Tamil Nadu at bay to secure draw for Rajasthan

Rajasthan secured a hard-fought draw against Tamil Nadu in the Elite Group-D Ranji Trophy match, thanks to a disciplined batting approach and key contributions from their top order. Mahipal Lomror anchored the innings with back-to-back fifties (84 and 50), while Kartik Sharma (42) provided early fireworks with a six off Saravana Kumar and a boundary off Washington Sundar.

The match at Sawai Mansingh Stadium hinged on time management, as Rajasthan declared at 192/6 in 70.1 overs, setting Tamil Nadu a target of 282 in under two sessions. Tamil Nadu’s chase faltered early, with openers Jagadeesan (42*) and Sai Sudharsan (26*) steadying the ship, but the team settled for a draw after failing to capitalize on their first-innings lead of 89 runs.

Rajasthan’s bowlers, led by Sai Kishore (3 wickets), stifled Tamil Nadu’s momentum, while new coach Yo Mahesh’s aggressive pacing on the boundary reflected the pressure of the moment.
