Bills’ Sam Franklin gets spitting suspension overturned after winning appeal

Buffalo defender Sam Franklin successfully appealed his ban after league officials penalized him for allegedly spitting on an opponent. The original one-game ban stemming from an October matchup was replaced with a financial penalty instead.

Legal representatives for the athlete maintained that their client never committed the infraction, while pointing out that opposing lineman DJ Glaze struck their client in the groin area during the contest.
