Steelers' Aaron Rodgers reveals NFL once had a completely different plan for its international games

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made history by playing in three different overseas countries across three consecutive years, culminating in a 16-10 victory abroad. Following the contest, the veteran signal-caller revealed that during 2020 collective bargaining negotiations, league and union officials discussed staging a simultaneous global slate where every matchup would occur across sixteen distinct international sites.

That ambitious proposal ultimately stalled because club owners prioritized securing a seventeenth regular-season contest for increased financial return.
