India’s squad for the upcoming Hong Kong Sixes 2026 has undergone a key change, with veteran all-rounder **Bhuvneshwar Kumar** recalled to the national T20I team ahead of a five-match series against New Zealand starting October 22. His absence prompted the promotion of **Krunal Pandya** as captain for the six-a-side tournament, which runs from October 30 to November 1.
The decision follows Arshdeep Singh’s shoulder injury, forcing a reshuffle in India’s T20I lineup. Pandya, who has represented India in 19 T20Is and five ODIs, brings leadership experience to the role, while the team will feature IPL stars including Rahul Tewatia, Nitish Rana, and left-arm pacer T Natarajan.
Gujarat Titans fast bowler **Kulwant Khejroliya** has been named as Kumar’s replacement in the squad, which also includes Shashank Singh and Rahul Tripathi. India’s campaign begins on October 30 against Pakistan in Group C, alongside the UAE and hosts Hong Kong.
