Marylebone Cricket Club official Fraser Stewart recently addressed the ongoing struggle to maintain equilibrium between batters and bowlers during a workshop hosted by the Delhi and District Cricket Association. Highlighting the updated rulebook taking effect on October 1, Stewart noted that the latest revisions feature seventy-three modifications meant to assist bowling attacks.
Among these adjustments is a protocol requiring a fresh batter to face any remaining deliveries if a dismissal occurs during the final over of a day's play in multi-day matches. Stewart explained that this specific change aims to properly reward bowling sides for late breakthroughs while prompting batting lineups to carefully consider utilizing night watchmen.
Additionally, the organization partnered with the International Cricket Council to release a specialized rule application translated into English, Hindi, and Urdu, with additional language support planned for the near future.
