Bangladesh and Afghanistan to play one-off Test in Abu Dhabi in October

Bangladesh and Afghanistan are scheduled to play a five-day red-ball fixture at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi between October 9 and 13, 2026. This contest marks the beginning of a broader multi-format assignment in the United Arab Emirates, which will be followed immediately by a three-team one-day international tournament featuring Zimbabwe.

The Bangladesh squad plans to arrive early in the region, with the first group landing in Dubai on October 1 to participate in a two-day warm-up match against the UAE on October 4 and 5. A second contingent currently competing at the Asian Games in Japan will join the team on October 6 ahead of the move to Abu Dhabi.

The subsequent ODI tri-series will take place from October 17 to 23 across venues in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, utilizing a round-robin format that leads directly into a final match without any intervening semi-finals.
