Austin Reaves plans to text LeBron James before his 76ers debut

Austin Reaves admitted he almost sent a text to LeBron James after seeing the former Lakers star in a Philadelphia 76ers jersey during a preseason practice, but decided against it at the last minute. He said he will definitely message James before the regular‑season debut tonight, when the 76ers face the New York Knicks at 4 p.m.

James and Reaves shared five seasons in Los Angeles, including a run to the Western Conference Finals in 2024, and Reaves recently secured a four‑year, $180 million contract with the Lakers, the largest deal ever for an undrafted player. Reaves expressed that playing alongside James again means a lot to him, even though James has now moved on to free‑agency with Philadelphia.
