The Atlanta Dream ownership group has sparked a controversy by issuing an open letter to fans criticizing the WNBA for a Game 6 tip-off scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET on a Thursday.
The owners claim they warned the league about scheduling conflicts months in advance, but their concerns were ignored, leading them to suggest the league may have underestimated the Dream's success in the playoffs.
Despite efforts by the Atlanta Hawks to accommodate the schedule, the game was moved from 8 p.m. to the afternoon because of a conflict with a Cavaliers game.
This follows a series of adjustments, including moving Game 3 due to a Sombr concert and shifting Game 4's start time for the Hawks' home opener. The Dream, who play at State Farm Arena, have a deal to make it their permanent home starting in 2027.
