The Atlanta Dream are facing elimination after a 64-55 loss to the Golden State Valkyries in Game 5 of the 2026 WNBA Finals, trailing 3-2 in the series. Angel Reese, who had previously been a candidate for Finals MVP, saw her performance dip, recording seven points, five assists, and 15 rebounds.
The Valkyries were powered by Kiah Stokes and Veronica Burton, who each scored 13 points and combined for seven blocks.
Analyst Emmanuel Acho criticized Reese's recent slump, stating she is no longer viewed as the WNBA's equivalent to Rudy Gobert. Following the game, Reese expressed frustration over officiating, specifically citing a non-call on a play where Gabby pulled her.
The Dream must win their upcoming Thursday game to avoid elimination and force a seventh game.
