India concluded its shooting campaign at the Asian Games with a seventh-place finish by Anish Bhanwala in the men's 25m pistol final, capping off a disappointing run. The nation accumulated fifteen medals in shooting, including three gold, eight silver, and four bronze, placing second behind China in the discipline.
Despite this tally, the overall performance fell significantly short of expectations and failed to match the historic totals from previous editions. Several prominent athletes, such as Samrat Rana, Anjum Moudgil, Swapnil Kusale, Sift Kaur Samra, Palak Gulia, and Manu Bhaker, failed to secure medals.
National coach Samaresh Jung acknowledged the underwhelming results, noting that the squad must return to the drawing board for analysis.
