Glamorgan opener Asa Tribe was stopped from joining the England Lions in the Caribbean after Saint Kitts and Nevis applied a 21‑day entry ban on anyone who had recently been in Kenya. The restriction was triggered by his participation in the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League in Nairobi in October 2026, and it prevents him from entering the islands until the period expires.
The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed his return to the UK but gave no timetable for a possible later inclusion. England Lions’ tour of St Kitts and Nevis features three T20s and five 50‑over matches, with the first T20 on 1 November 2026 won by England Lions by eight wickets.
Tribe’s county form this season – 940 runs at 37.60 with two centuries and a top score of 135 – earned his Lions call‑up and has prompted discussions with England managing director Rob Key about a senior England pathway. The 21‑day rule stems from an Ebola outbreak linked to Kenya and several other African nations, and it bars non‑nationals who have been in Kenya within the window from entering Saint Kitts and Nevis, regardless of travel purpose.
