Angel Reese’s dramatic second half turnaround in WNBA playoffs debut summed up by one stat

Angel Reese overcame a dismal first-half shooting performance to help the Atlanta Dream secure a 92-77 victory over the Washington Mystics in Game 1 of their opening-round playoff series. After missing ten of eleven attempts before halftime and posting a minus-seven rating, the forward adjusted her approach to contribute nine points, five rebounds, and an eighteen-plus rating after the break, finishing the contest with thirteen points and twelve rebounds.

Teammates Rhyne Howard and Jordin Canada also fueled the second-half surge with stellar plus-minus numbers to put Atlanta ahead in the best-of-three matchup. The dominant recovery leaves the Mystics facing postseason elimination unless they can capture consecutive wins in the remaining games.
