Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese returned to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center to witness LSU's historic 131-22 victory over Texas Southern, the largest margin of victory between two Division I programs. During the visit, the Defensive Player of the Year was honored with flowers, a crown, and a tribute video following a tough WNBA Finals loss with Atlanta.
The current LSU roster also surprised her by wearing her custom t-shirts in the locker room.
Reese noted that Kim Mulkey's demanding four-hour practices prepared her for the professional jump and mentioned that Mulkey still contacts her after games. While in town, Reese also appeared on Victory Hill with Lane Kiffin and Shaquille O'Neal before an LSU-Alabama game and attended a Pelicans NBA Cup match to support her brother, Julian.
Looking ahead, she discussed the 2028 Olympics and praised MiLaysia Fulwiley's WNBA-ready defense.
