Angel Reese has completely silenced her doubters during a historic debut campaign with the Atlanta Dream. The forward earned the AP Defensive Player of the Year honor after averaging 16.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per contest.
Along the way, she established a new league benchmark by securing 32 double-doubles, became the first player in competition history to pull down 500 rebounds in a single year, and hauled in 26 boards in a single contest. She also claimed Eastern Conference Player of the Week accolades in three successive weeks, a first for the franchise.
Atlanta carried that momentum directly into the postseason by defeating Washington in the opening game of their first-round series. Reese contributed another double-double to that victory with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Her all-around game has blossomed to match her elite rebounding prowess, turning her into a massive challenge for opponents.
