Former tennis star Andy Roddick recently shared his thoughts on Novak Djokovic opting to accept a wildcard entry for the upcoming Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel. According to Roddick, the veteran player is utilizing the indoor hard-court event to gear up for the upcoming Australian Open.

Roddick noted during his podcast that relying solely on skipping tournaments before major competitions becomes increasingly difficult as athletes age, praising the decision to secure meaningful match play late in the calendar year instead of jumping straight into a Grand Slam. Djokovic recently captured his 102nd career singles title at the China Open in Beijing, maintaining a perfect record at that tournament, before later competing at the Shanghai Masters.
