American Korda wins LPGA Tour player of the year

November 4, 2026

Nelly Korda, the reigning world number one in women’s golf, has secured her second LPGA Tour Player of the Year award, capping off a dominant season. The 28-year-old American claimed four victories this year, including back-to-back major titles—the Chevron Championship and the US Women’s Open at Riviera.

Her four wins put her one victory away from earning a spot in the LPGA Hall of Fame, where she currently sits at 26 points, just one short of the required 27. Korda, who already holds the award from 2024, opened the 2026 season with a six-tournament stretch where she either won or finished second, establishing a commanding lead in the points race.

With rivals like South Korea’s Haeran Ryu, Japan’s Miyu Yamashita, and Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul either sidelined or absent from recent events, Korda sealed the honor with three tournaments remaining. Though she won’t be the youngest inductee—New Zealand’s Lydia Ko and South Korea’s Inbee Park entered the Hall at 27—Korda’s consistency and major success have solidified her legacy on the tour.
