This upcoming event marks the second and final tournament featuring thirty-two participating squads before the competition expands to forty-eight teams for the 2031 installment.
European qualifying action concluded its first phase after matches between March and June of 2026, sending Denmark, France, Germany, and Spain directly through as group victors from League A. A multitude of other nations from across global confederations have also secured their spots, including Australia, Japan, Argentina, and South Africa, while thirty-two teams prepare to battle through European play-offs spanning October to December 2026 for remaining berths.
