All the ways Season Thirty was a milestone-making celebration for the WNBA

October 14, 2026

The WNBA’s 30th season delivered a historic slate of individual achievements that redefined player milestones across the league. Angel Reese dominated with 32 double-doubles and 521 rebounds, shattering records while becoming the fastest player to reach 1,000 career boards in just 79 games.

Brittney Griner cemented her legacy as the WNBA’s all-time blocks leader with 899, while Paige Bueckers set a new mark for points scored in a player’s first two seasons (1,570). Rookie Azzi Fudd made headlines as the first ever to win the 3-Point Contest, and Jessica Shepard’s six triple-doubles in a single season highlighted her rise as a potential triple-double queen.

Indiana Fever’s backcourt of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell fueled the league’s highest-scoring season (96.0 PPG), with Mitchell breaking the single-season scoring record (1,086 points) and Clark reaching 1,000 points, rebounds, and assists in just 54 games. Meanwhile, A’ja Wilson became the first player with multiple 1,000-point seasons and multiple 45-point games, while Nneka Ogwumike tied Diana Taurasi for second-most All-Star selections (11) before her retirement.
