The WNBA’s 30th season has shattered records across the board, marking its most successful year yet in terms of fan engagement and viewership. National television audiences hit an all-time high of over 91 million viewers, more than doubling the league’s reach from 2025, while 51 games attracted over one million viewers each—a more than twofold increase from the previous year.
Nine broadcasts surpassed two million viewers, a new league benchmark, and total viewership across all networks exceeded 90 million unique fans. The season also drew nearly four million attendees in person, the highest regular-season total in WNBA history, and fans collectively watched over 320 million hours of coverage, another historic peak.
The playoffs opened with the most-watched first round ever, averaging 1.3 million viewers per game, underscoring the league’s growing global appeal under Commissioner Cathy Engelbert’s leadership.
Engelbert highlighted the milestone season as a testament to decades of dedication from players, teams, and supporters, celebrating both the league’s growth and the bright future ahead. The surge in attendance, broadcast ratings, and digital engagement reflects a league not only expanding its footprint but also deepening its cultural impact, solidifying its place as a cornerstone of women’s sports.
