Alexander Volkanovski Wants UFC Superfight With Justin Gaethje

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has publicly expressed his desire to face Justin Gaethje, the current lightweight champion, in a potential superfight. Speaking to a podcast, Volkanovski suggested the matchup could feature both titles on the line, with the possibility of retirement for both fighters following the bout.

Volkanovski is set to defend his featherweight title against Movsar Evloev, a 20-0 MMA veteran with a 10-0 UFC record, at UFC 333. Meanwhile, Gaethje, who shares Volkanovski’s 1988 birth year, has not yet confirmed his return plans but is expected to face Arman Tsarukyan next if he decides to continue competing.

The proposed fight would pit two of the sport’s best champions against each other at a similar stage in their careers, with both turning 38 in 2027.
