Alcaraz wins Vienna Open to maintain perfect record

Carlos Alcaraz claimed the Vienna Open trophy following a straight-set victory against Alex de Minaur, securing the championship with a 6-1 6-4 scoreline in an 87-minute contest. This triumph preserves the Spanish competitor's flawless streak at the ATP 500 tier throughout 2026, marking his sixteenth consecutive victory at that classification this season.

Alcaraz extended an overall sequence of twenty-six straight wins in such tournaments, a run originating from a defeat against Holger Rune at the 2025 Barcelona Open and featuring earlier championship wins in Tokyo and Doha. Reflecting on the final, the twenty-three-year-old emphasized his tactical focus on aggressive play and expressed immense satisfaction following a deeply emotional tournament week.
