Former Indian Test captain Ajinkya Rahane has selected his five preferred fast bowlers for the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup, choosing Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, and Mayank Yadav. The inclusion of Yadav is particularly notable since he has never played an ODI match, despite reaching a top speed of 156.7 kmph and featuring in eleven T20Is.
Meanwhile, the selection leaves out several prominent players, including Mohammed Shami, who is India's leading wicket-taker in ODI World Cup history with 55 wickets, and Harshit Rana, who has accumulated 26 wickets across 14 matches alongside a half-century in the format. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Gurnoor Brar were also omitted from Rahane's list for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
