Abishek Porel has secured a spot in Bengal's squad for upcoming Ranji Trophy practice fixtures despite recent legal troubles that resulted in him spending over a month in custody. The Cricket Association of Bengal named Sudip Chatterjee as captain for the team, which also features Abhimanyu Easwaran, Subham Chatterjee, and Karan Lal.
Practice sessions will take place at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati ahead of the squad's opening match against Delhi on October 11 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Porel previously faced serious charges including non-bailable allegations related to sexual misconduct and threats involving intimate media, with courts directing police to review his electronic devices.
