Prithvi Shaw to lead Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy opener against Services

Prithvi Shaw has taken over leadership responsibilities for Maharashtra ahead of their upcoming four-day competition campaign. The squad is scheduled to face Services in the opening Group C fixture, which begins on October 11 in New Delhi.

Regular team captain Ruturaj Gaikwad will be absent from the lineup because of his national commitments.

Gaikwad has been selected to captain the India A side during a three-match unofficial fifty-over series against Australia A in Puducherry. Those limited-overs fixtures are planned for October 6, 9, and 11.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has assembled a 16-player roster that includes Sachin Dhas, Digvijay Patil, and Mukesh Choudhary alongside Shaw.
