Despite a staggering seven-wicket haul by Emanjot Singh Chahal that crippled the home lineup on Saturday, Tamil Nadu remained in a dominant position at the end of the third day. Chahal dismantled the tail to finish with figures of seven for 102, restricting the hosts to 462 runs after they had initially cruised past the 400-mark with only two wickets down.
In response, Rest of India mounted a strong recovery to reach 195 for two by stumps, trailing by 88 runs. Openers Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ayush Jethwa led the charge with a 149-run partnership, with Raghuvanshi remaining unbeaten on 88 alongside Jethwa's contribution of 58 runs.
