A's part ways with assistant hitting, quality control coaches

The Oakland ball club announced staff changes on Thursday regarding their upcoming coaching roster. Hitting instructor Chris Cron and quality control instructor Marcus Jensen will not return for the upcoming campaign.

Cron originally joined the organization in 2022 before transitioning to a primary hitting role alongside Mike Aldrete in 2024. Aldrete and hitting director Darren Bush are both retained for the future.

During the recent schedule, the squad finished near the bottom third in total runs while dealing with numerous health setbacks to key contributors like Nick Kurtz, Brent Rooker, Tyler Soderstrom, and Jacob Wilson. Cron brings a baseball background as the father of former major leaguers, while Jensen concludes a long tenure within the organization that began back in 2015 across multiple coaching positions.
