5 things to watch in 49ers' home opener vs. Dolphins

Following a 27-7 triumph over the Los Angeles Rams that pushed their record to 1-0, the San Francisco 49ers enter their Week 2 home clash against the Miami Dolphins as massive favorites. That opening victory featured Brock Purdy operating behind reliable protection while San Francisco's defensive front disrupted Matthew Stafford.

Heading into this matchup, head coach Kyle Shanahan minimized concerns regarding a midweek groin problem sustained during practice by rookie runner Kaelon Black, though the team currently lists two contributors as questionable.

The Dolphins travel to Santa Clara after facing the Las Vegas Raiders, a contest where quarterback Malik Willis relied on his rushing ability and lead back De'Von Achane managed only 36 yards across 11 attempts. Miami is concluding consecutive road dates on the West Coast and will play at this specific site for the first time since the 2022 campaign.
