The Indian women's track and field squad claimed the top spot in the 4x400m relay event at the Aichi-Nagoya competitions. The quartet of Kiran Pahal, Poovamma Machettira, Prachi, and Vithya Ramraj completed the race in a combined time of 3:29.69 to secure the gold medal.
After a slow beginning from Kiran, Poovamma advanced the squad into the front position, which Prachi and Vithya maintained despite a late challenge from Bahrain's Salwa Eid Nasser. Bahrain took the second spot with 3:30.21, while China rounded out the podium in third at 3:31.02.
This victory marked Vithya's third medal of the competition, following her record-breaking performance in the hurdles event just a day prior.
