New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy has confirmed that his side has prepared specific bowling tactics to counter India's teenage batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ahead of their upcoming five-match T20 international series. The hosts expect that unfamiliar local conditions and extra seam movement will pose a stiff challenge for the young left-handed opener, who recently claimed a gold medal at the Asian Games in Japan and became the youngest man to score an international half-century during a match against Zimbabwe.
The opening contest of the series will take place at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, where Duffy has already discussed pitch conditions with the head groundsman in hopes of securing a bouncy surface that can limit high-scoring displays. Sooryavanshi previously made his T20I debut during an English tour following a standout performance in the Indian Premier League, prompting the New Zealand camp to conduct detailed scouting sessions to keep the record-setting youngster from establishing his usual rhythm.
