Why has Shafali Verma been reprimanded by ICC after India's win over Zimbabwe?

Indian vice-captain Shafali Verma received an official reprimand and one demerit point from the International Cricket Council following an incident during the second T20I against Zimbabwe. During the twelfth over of Zimbabwe's innings, Shafali dropped a catch off Shree Charani's bowling and reacted by slamming the ball into the turf in frustration, which constituted a Level 1 violation of the ICC Code of Conduct regarding equipment abuse.

Shafali accepted the sanction proposed by match referee G.S. Lakshmi without a formal hearing after the charge was brought by umpires Vrinda Rathi, Gayathri Venugopalan, Anna Harris, and Janani Narayanan. The penalty occurred during India's nine-wicket victory over their opponents.
