Former national team batsman Wasim Jaffer recently discussed the dynamic between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma during their time playing together for India. Drawing comparisons to past legendary teammates, Jaffer noted that a healthy professional rivalry exists between the pair alongside a strong foundation of mutual respect.
He also pointed to Rohit's successful shift to the opening position during the 2013 Champions Trophy as a major turning point in his career.
During recent limited-overs action against the West Indies, both senior players delivered standout centuries for the squad. Kohli posted a hundred in Thiruvananthapuram, while Rohit notched an unbeaten 101 in Guwahati to help anchor a successful run chase.
With that latest milestone knock, Rohit also eclipsed the milestone of 12,000 career runs in the fifty-over format, joining Sachin Tendulkar and Kohli as the only Indian players to reach that elite mark.
