'In recent years, I put too much pressure on myself' – Failed search for a new team ends in retirement for former La Flèche Wallonne winner Dylan Teuns

After a professional career spanning 12 years, 34-year-old Belgian cyclist Dylan Teuns has announced his retirement. The former La Flèche Wallonne winner, who also secured stage victories at the Tour de France and Critérium du Dauphiné alongside several general classification titles, failed to secure a contract for the upcoming season despite discussions with multiple WorldTour and ProTeam squads.

Teuns noted that the stress of his uncertain contract status and a difficult spring season influenced his decision to step away rather than join a smaller team. He expressed pride in his career achievements while admitting that he struggled with self-imposed pressure in recent years.
