‘A Double Standard,’ ‘The LeBron James of Our League’ — Sophie Cunningham Argues A’ja Wilson ‘Should Have Been’ Suspended for Fever Fan Incident

Sophie Cunningham recently used her podcast platform to criticize the WNBA for failing to suspend Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson over an altercation with an Indiana Fever spectator during the postseason. Cunningham argued that the league applies a different standard to its elite players, comparing Wilson's status to that of LeBron James.

The confrontation occurred in Indianapolis during the fourth quarter of a first-round series game when a courtside attendee stepped toward Wilson, prompting the player to shout back. Although game officials assessed a technical foul and the individual was briefly removed before being permitted back, league administrators ultimately declined to issue any fines or suspensions.
