Zverev clinches year-end No. 1 ranking after Alcaraz loss and with Sinner out injured

Alexander Zverev secured the top year-end tennis ranking on Monday following an early exit by Carlos Alcaraz at the tournament in Shanghai and an injury sidelining Jannik Sinner. The twenty-nine-year-old athlete achieved this milestone after claiming major titles at the French Open and the United States Open earlier in the calendar.

Zverev is scheduled to face Alexander Bublik next in the Shanghai Masters. Sinner remains out for the remainder of the year due to knee issues.
