Uttar Pradesh dominated the first innings of their Elite Group A Ranji Trophy clash against Bihar, piling up a commanding 540/5 at the Rajgir International Stadium. The side, led by opener Madhav Kaushik and all-rounder Rinku Singh, built a strong foundation with a 207-run partnership before Singh fell for 112, his third consecutive Ranji century.
Kaushik anchored the innings with a patient 150, ensuring UP’s total remained unassailable even after losing five wickets. Bihar struggled to respond, collapsing to 44/2 at stumps, 496 runs behind after Mangal Mahrour and Piyush Singh were dismissed early.
Debutant Abhinandan Singh’s aggressive 43 with four sixes sealed UP’s victory, while Amod Yadav led Bihar’s bowling attack with 4/91.
