Yahoo High Score 101: Everything you need to know before playing the fantasy basketball format

Yahoo Sports has introduced High Score, a new fantasy basketball format designed for the 2026-27 NBA season that aims to reduce the daily time commitment of traditional leagues. The game features a streamlined ten-player roster with six weekly starters and a flexible positional layout incorporating guards, forwards, and a single flex spot.

Scoring is simplified by awarding whole numbers for core statistics such as points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals while completely excluding turnovers from the calculation. Additionally, managers can opt to set their lineups only once per week, with each starter's single highest point total of the week contributing to the cumulative score.
