The Women’s Premier League (WPL) will hold its 2027 player auction in Kochi on October 28, where 146 cricketers—including 119 Indians and 27 international players—will compete for just 27 available squad spots across the five franchises. Among the standout names are England’s Sophia Dunkley and Australia’s Sophie Molineux, both listed at the highest base price of ₹50 lakh, alongside Indian players G Kamalini and Kiran Navgire, as well as Australian all-rounders Heather Graham and Jess Jonassen, each with a base price of ₹40 lakh.
The auction features a mix of capped and uncapped talent, with 20 slots reserved for Indian players and seven for overseas recruits, including six from Associate Nations. Teams will face tight budget constraints as they finalize their rosters ahead of the season, with Mumbai Indians recently adding USA seamer Tara Norris to their bowling resources in a pre-auction trade.
Norris, who previously took a five-wicket haul for Delhi Capitals in 2023, joins the franchise after being acquired from UP Warriorz for ₹10 lakh.
