Brentford contact police after rugby ball kicked on to pitch during Liverpool match

Brentford have reported a dangerous incident during their 2-1 Premier League defeat to Liverpool at the weekend, after a rugby ball was deliberately kicked from a rooftop near the stadium and landed on the pitch. Security footage showed a group of spectators laughing as one individual launched the ball from an elevated position, while matchday staff later removed it from play.

The club condemned the behavior as reckless and potentially hazardous, emphasizing the risks to players, officials, and fans alike. Authorities have been notified, and the club is assisting in identifying those responsible, with possible legal consequences for those involved.

The match itself saw Brentford suffer further setbacks, as midfielders Yehor Yarmolyuk and Vitaly Janelt were both sent off in the second half, leaving them sixth in the league table after the loss.
