The New York Jets have made a roster move to address an injury setback, activating veteran edge rusher Nate Lynn after placing defensive end Braiden McGregor on injured reserve for the season. McGregor suffered a pectoral muscle tear during the team’s Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears, ending his campaign early.
Lynn, who joined the Jets during training camp and spent the preseason on the practice squad, earned a spot on the active roster after a strong two-game stretch in exhibitions, recording three sacks. While McGregor had been used primarily on early downs and in pass-rush situations, Lynn’s arrival could shift the Jets’ defensive approach, as his profile leans more toward pass-rushing.
The Jets also added edge defender Nathan Voorhis to the practice squad, deepening their rotational depth. Lynn is set to make his regular-season debut in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns, where he’ll look to contribute immediately in McGregor’s absence.
