Jon Rahm is set to exit LIV Golf after concluding that the proposed terms for the league’s future, known as LIV 2.0, are not viable for him. The Spanish superstar, who joined the Saudi-backed tour in December 2023 with a reported £222 million deal, has reportedly rejected the new financial and operational framework, according to his legal representative.
LIV, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. last month following Saudi Arabia’s withdrawal of funding, has since secured a $300 million lifeline from BC Partners Credit to proceed with plans for the 2027 season.
Rahm’s decision comes as the league faces broader challenges, with players owed at least $45 million and given the option to leave. Talks between LIV and its players remain open until October 25, though Rahm’s team is reportedly in advanced discussions to finalize a separation agreement by a court hearing scheduled for November 5.
