The Philadelphia Flyers, currently mired in a winless start to the 2026-27 season, have made a move to bolster their offense by signing veteran winger Michael Bunting to a contract for the remainder of the campaign. After a slow start that includes losses in their first four games—most recently a 4-1 defeat to the Tampa Bay Lightning—the struggling franchise looks to add scoring punch with Bunting’s arrival.
The 31-year-old forward, who tallied 14 goals and 33 points last season split between the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars, had remained unsigned on the free-agent market until now. His addition comes as the Flyers’ offensive woes have persisted, including a season-opening 7-0 rout by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Bunting’s experience and gritty playmaking could provide a much-needed spark for a team searching for its first win of the year.
