Dallas guard Arike Ogunbowale delivered an incredible performance in Game 2 of the first round playoff series against the Golden State Valkyries, scoring a career-best 45 points to secure a 108-100 overtime win and force a deciding third game. Ogunbowale also hit a desperate fallaway three-pointer with just 4.6 seconds remaining in regulation to force the extra session, while adding seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals to her historic night.
Her scoring total established a brand new WNBA postseason single-game record, eclipsing the previous mark of 42 points previously shared by Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, and Angela McCoughtry.
While teammates Paige Bueckers and Jessica Sheppard struggled to find their offensive rhythm with ten and four points respectively, Alysha Clark provided a massive spark off the bench by contributing 21 points built on efficient shooting, including three successful long-distance makes. Ogunbowale shot twelve of twenty-three overall from the field, sank five shots from beyond the arc, and converted sixteen of eighteen attempts from the charity stripe as the Wings successfully fended off elimination.
