Will Lane Kiffin Sit Sam Leavitt Against McNeese In Week 5?

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin is weighing whether to bench quarterback Sam Leavitt for the upcoming contest against McNeese as the signal-caller manages a mild hamstring strain picked up during a recent matchup. The caution stems from a mounting wave of injuries across the roster, which has already claimed key contributors such as linebacker Whit Weeks, tight end Trey'Dez Green, and safety Dashawn Spears.

In the event Leavitt sits, backup Landen Clark stands ready to step in after steadily climbing from the third-string role during fall camp to secure second-team repetitions and specialized red-zone duties.
