During his introductory media availability with the Boston Celtics, center Mitchell Robinson revealed that he demanded an apology from head coach Joe Mazzulla regarding past tactical fouling. The veteran big man previously spent eight seasons with the New York Knicks before crossing conference lines this offseason on a three-year contract valued at $47.39 million.
Robinson struggled significantly from the charity stripe last year, hitting just 40.8 percent of his free throws, which prompted opposing mentors like Mazzulla to deploy the intentional fouling tactic during their 2025 postseason series. Despite those previous on-court clashes, the two have since cleared the air following a visit from Mazzulla to Nashville, and the coach remarked during the event that he will actually miss sending his new center to the line.
