The New York Jets entered the season with high hopes for their pass rush, drafting defensive end David Bailey with the No. 2 overall pick and adding edge rushers Joseph Ossai and Kingsley Enagbare to join first-round pick Will McDonald.
However, the unit has struggled to deliver, recording just nine sacks (14th in the NFL) and 26 pressures (17th) through the early campaign. Bailey, Enagbare, and linebacker Demario Davis each lead the team with two sacks, but the lack of interior push has been a persistent issue, particularly with the absence of Quinnen Williams, who previously disrupted the pocket and set up teammates for sacks.
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn emphasized the need for better pocket disruption, noting that sacks often follow when the defense consistently pressures the quarterback. He also stressed the importance of teamwork, highlighting that the pass rush requires all four defenders to work together rather than relying on individual efforts.
Despite early setbacks, Glenn remains confident in the group’s potential to improve as the season progresses.
