What Happened to Lorenzo Musetti’s Season?

Lorenzo Musetti began the year reaching a career milestone at number five in the rankings following a strong run to the Hong Kong final. However, a series of untimely physical setbacks severely derailed his campaign, limiting him to just thirty-one singles matches and dropping him to number twenty-four.

An upper-right-leg problem forced him to retire during his Australian Open quarterfinal against Novak Djokovic, before a rectus femoris injury in Rome sidelined him for both Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Most recently, a fractured finger sustained during training has forced Musetti to pull out of the tournament in Tokyo.
