What happened the last time Novak Djokovic played at the Basel Open in 2011 as he accepts wildcard

Novak Djokovic has secured a wildcard entry for the upcoming Swiss indoor tournament, marking his first appearance at the competition in fifteen years as he attempts to secure a spot in the ATP Finals. During his last run at the venue in 2011, the top-seeded competitor advanced past early opponents like Xavier Malisse and Łukasz Kubot, before overcoming Marcos Baghdatis in a grueling three-set quarterfinal.

Ultimately, a shoulder injury severely limited his serving capability in the semifinals against Kei Nishikori, leading to a lopsided final set defeat in what was only his fourth loss of that season.
