What does WNBA rulebook say about A'ja Wilson's clash with Fever fan?

The Las Vegas Aces are scheduled to play the Indiana Fever on Thursday, October 1, for a decisive Game 3 in the opening round of the WNBA playoffs. During the previous matchup at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, star player A'ja Wilson received a technical foul after exchanging words and pointing at a spectator who had stepped toward her from the floor seats.

While league regulations mandate automatic ejection for anyone deliberately entering the spectator stands, referees determined via review that Wilson remained within the player escape lane adjacent to the stanchion, meaning no ejection was warranted. Arena security initially removed the male spectator but later permitted him to return after concluding he broke no conduct rules, and the Fever ultimately secured a 99-89 victory.
