The upcoming twelfth season of the Women's Big Bash League opens with a doubleheader at Junction Oval as the Melbourne Renegades meet Sydney Thunder followed by the Melbourne Stars facing the defending champions, Hobart Hurricanes. The Hurricanes enter the tournament under the leadership of Nicola Carey after the retirement of Ellyse Villani, while Chamari Athapaththu steps in to replace the sidelined Danni Wyatt-Hodge.

The regular stage comprises forty matches culminating in a championship clash scheduled for December 5.
