Hampshire batsman Joe Weatherley has committed his future to the county by signing an extension that runs through the conclusion of the 2028 campaign. The twenty-nine-year-old enters this new agreement following a standout prior summer where he topped the T20 Blast run-scoring charts with 591 runs at an average approaching fifty.
During Finals Day at Edgbaston, Weatherley made history by becoming the first competitor to register two fifties on the same day, hitting an unbeaten 88 in the semi-final against the Notts Outlaws and 75 in the title match against the Northamptonshire Steelbacks. Having debuted professionally in 2016, the academy product has amassed 211 appearances for Hampshire and ranks third on their all-time T20 run-scoring list behind James Vince and Michael Carberry.
